I was a heavy World of Warcraft player from about 2008 to 2012. Played through two expansions. At the time I was unemployed and was going through a lot in my life so it gave me something to do and was a very challenging game that kept my mind off real issues in life, but at the same time very addicting. I eventually just got bored of the game and got a girlfriend and my work life started to do better. Today I have a good paying full-time job with benefits that I like a lot. At the current moment in life, my goal is to pay off a credit card and get my credit balance down to 0. My balance is currently at $1,200.00 and it will just take a few months to pay it completely off. I am currently not going out, not dating, shopping or anything. I am mainly focused on getting this balance paid off. Once the balance is paid off I am going to be out on the town again. Now World of Warcraft is releasing a new expansion called Battle For Azeroth and I will not lie, it has my interest peaked to come back and check it out. So I have returned to World of Warcraft and have been playing in my free time until I get the rest of my credit card balance paid off. The blizzard team added a bunch of cool features that made the game more casual and user-friendly. I can see it is still very easy to get lost in and can still be a time waster, but the made the game not as repetitive and a huge grind fest. One of the issues with the old world of Warcraft is you had to grind a lot in the game to just get a few potions to raid in the evening. Also, you would have to get 5 boars tail for a quest some NPC gave you and the drop rate was like 5% so you had to kill like 80 boars to collect 5 tails. Now when you need 5 boars tails for a quest the drop rate is like 90% so you kill a lot less. I will not be a hardcore raider anymore and just be more of a casual player that plays a bit here and there. So many companies are releasing such awesome games and a lot of the new games take awhile to get through that I am really enjoying other games as well.
